The last couple of days have been a bit tiring. I woke up 5 am Wednesday sick. Was throwing up all day. I really tried to drink fluids but it just wasn't happening. Wound up going to the hospital that night because I was dehydrated which of course brought on some contractions. I wasn't really thinking clearly though and we just went to the nearest hospital, which was not my hospital that I would be delivering at. They kept me there until about 3 am on an IV and gave me procardia for the contractions. Sent me home but told me I needed to see my dr the next day. Well didn't get to do that cause I had more contractions that morning so this time off to labor & deliver at MY hospital. My dr did wind up being on call though. And again they put me on an IV for dehydration. So today I'm home, taking it easy. No more contractions and I'm actually able to eat some food so that's good. And yes...drinking plenty of fluids. Willie's been making sure of that. :)
The babies are doing well. They were kicking and moving the whole time I was at the hospital. In fact, when they put the monitors on my belly, they had the hardest time keeping marshmallow on there. She kept moving and kicking the monitor. Guess she didn't like that so much.
At least I know now what a contraction feels like. Cause up to this point, I really didn't know what to expect. These weren't so bad though. Pretty minor. More uncomfortable than painful. In hindsight I should have just gone to my hospital. They probably wouldn't have sent me home and would've kept me overnight. But hey...we're first timers at this! We're still learning! :)
