Last Year of My 20's
so friday was my birthday. it was actually a pretty looooong day.
it started with me and willie getting up at 2:30 am to make sure we got down to wall street by 4 am. we walked around for a bit before finally making our way back to the reason we were there in the first place. to stand in line for 4 hours to get our hands on this little baby:

happy birthday to me!
saturday willie took me out for my birthday day since i couldn't take friday off. yeah, i had to rush over to the office after waiting for the iphone.
so willie surprised me first with tickets to see xanadu on broadway. i'm a freak for that movie so i was super psyched. and it was awesome! so so so so funny!
then we walked over to a coach store and willie bought me a new coach bag. i've been needing a small handbag for so long. and i found a perfect one there.

then we decided to take a detour over to the apple store and get new cases for the iphones. wow. it was madness!
after that, the topper to the evening.....le bernardin. oh my. i've been wanting to go there for so long! i've had to listen to willie gush about the food so much! so i finally got to experience it. and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
we decided to go with the tasting menu, which was 7 courses (2 desserts). and i also had the wine pairing with mine. that was a mistake. i'm a serious lightweight when it comes to alcohol. i was blinded by the excitement of getting to try a new wine with every course that i forgot about the fact that it was SEVEN courses! i started feelin' the wine by the 3rd course. but the food was just amazing. the salmon we had was just falling apart. the butter was so good i could have had that all by itself. i can't even remember all of the different courses.
dessert rolls around and they bring out for the final course the richest most chocolatey cake i've ever had. it was flourless and absolutely amazing. and they paired it with a seriously decadent dessert wine. my....so rich and sweet i couldn't finish it! but i wish i had more! it tasted like raisins. mmmmm. right after they brought out the chocolate cake...the waiter brought out another plate with a small round passionfruit cake with a candle in it! awwww...and the chef wrote happy birthday in the finest neatest script in chocolate on the plate!

taken with willie's iphone.
just an amazing night really. i have a wonderful hubby.
