Mmmmmm...cupcakes......

A couple of weeks ago I bought this book. Yes, I've been bitten by the cupcake bug. It has a TON of great recipes! AND if you like cookies, there's a cookie version too!

So tonight I tried out the Applesauce & Cinnamon Cupcake recipe.

And the verdict? Not bad! Golden raisins, pecans, apples, cinnamon....all in all, a great combination. But, if I make this again, I'll definitely add more sugar. It just wasn't quite sweet enough for my taste. They turned out good though! I was a bit worried too. I'm still new to the baking world and the recipe actually called for self-rising flour but I didn't have any! So I just used regular flour. I wasn't quite sure how that was going to effect the recipe. But it all worked out!

Gorgeousness and gorgeousity

So, I purchased my first piece of art and I'm so excited! I first discovered this artist on the show Crafters Coast To Coast, now renamed That's Clever. Her name is Meredith Dittmar and she makes these adorable little figures out of polymer clay that she calls "my guys". Her website is corporatepig.com. I just fell in love with her style the instant I saw it. It's so imaginative and whimsical!
Now, I bought one of her actual art pieces but if you don't have the money to splurge, she sells her little my guys; $12 for clones, which basically means they don't sell out, she makes them by request, and then $18 for the my guys, which are only made once and ya gotta snatch those up!

What a rush!

So we went to Six Flags yesterday with a bunch of friends. I just HAD to get my roller coaster fix! We also shelled out the extra cash for the Gold Flash Pass. Sooooo worth it! Just imagine, going up to the Superman and within 5 minutes, you're on the ride. Beautiful! We rode so many roller coasters that by the end of the day we were getting on and doing all kinds of poses for the cameras. Fun stuff! AND I got my picture taken with Speedy Gonzalez! You know you're jealous.
